Program Costs
At YourStory International we strive to provide our volunteers, who we call advocates, with an experience that will inspire them to make service a pillar of their personal and professional lives. You can learn more about our volunteer program here. We work to keep our program costs low so that our expeditions will as accessible as possible.

Note: Because YourStory International is a 501(c)3 public charity all program costs, as well as any other costs you incur which are directly related to your expedition are eligible for deduction from your federal income taxes. Please see the following IRS publication regarding deduction of your or your child's expedition costs:

A primary mission of YourStory International is to maximize access to our programs for students who do not typically have the means to engage in overseas volunteer trips. In order to do this, we do not add any administrative expenses to the cost of volunteering. Additionally, since our American staff all works on a volunteer-basis, we do not have the extra burden of corporate salaries or compensation.

YourStory International offers three program cost options, depending on the status of our individual volunteers

Note: Costs do not include airfare to Haiti
​
$795: Unsubsidized cost of a YourStory International Expedition.
​
$710: This cost applies to past Advocates in good standing, who have been on at least one past expedition.
​
$695: For students requesting subsidized program costs. Interested individuals must note this on their application and provide documentation for review by the Board of Directors.
​
$595: This cost applies to Haitian-American or Haitian volunteers who are eligible for the Haitian-American scholarship. Interested individuals must note their interest in this program on their application and provide a narrative explaining their motivation for traveling to Haiti on a YourStory International expedition.
