Hans Delly Rossini Civil

Hans Delly Rossini Civil has been working with YSI for a few years now. He was connected to us through one of his classmates. He says that he “[feels] so proud to be [a] part of YSI”, and that this pride is his inspiration for continuing his work with us. I asked him some questions, so that you can get to know Hans better.

Are you still in school? What are your career goals?

“Yeah, I [am] still in school. I will be done in few months! About my career... I would love to be a doctor or an economic man, but [I am] more interested in being a doctor.”

What are your favorite parts of working with YSI?

“My favorite aspect[s] of YSI are... I do like the way you always do things… in a professional way. After that, you [are] always so kind [and] friendly with the translators.”

What are your future plans with us?

“It would be [to remain] a member of YSI, then travel with you, and always continue doing the work... keep helping people in Haiti.”

What is your favorite memory from your time with YSI?

“At the beginning we did not have a good place to live and stay, now in God's name we do have a better place to live, [work,] and stay.”

What would you say to somebody who is unsure whether or not YSI is not right for them?

“Rome was not built in one day.”

What is your biggest takeaway from your experiences with YSI?

“[My biggest takeaway] is meeting [a] lot of young people from different colleges... They have different ways of thinking... they [inspire] me to be more interested in my stud[ies] and keep working hard to be a new person in the future.”

When I thanked him for taking the time to answer my questions, he said “honestly, you have been helping me too.” And it is because of this inspirational relationship that we have with our translators that we are able to connect so closely with the people of Haiti.
